Obviously Brinley started Kindergarten so that right there is enough for mommy, but Braelyn has been acting a lot older all of the sudden too! You're killing me smalls! I mean, even the cat, Jonas, is getting bigger! Brinley has become a seasoned veteran at school and she is still bringing home yellow cards! :o) YAY! (I don't want to be pessimistic, but maybe she just doesn't know the kids well enough yet to get in trouble for talking!) I know my mouth kept me in trouble, so I am preparing myself! Braelyn seemed to crank it up a notch when Brinley started school. She is talking SO big sometimes. It makes me sad. :o( She has really been helping out a lot around the house too. The other day we did the dishes & then she wanted to help cook. Then she decided she needed to sweep under the table, which seems to have crumbs no matter how many times a day we sweep. She gets the broom & dust pan & gets right to business. I must say she did a pretty good job too, but she tried to dump the pan & bless her heart, she missed the trash can. Oh no we both said, but she was okay with it. She just swept it back up & I helped with the dumping this time. Later on we are eating dinner & Brinley dropped a black-eyed pea. I told her for the 100th time to eat over the table/plate & not make a mess. And then here it comes and for those who know how Braelyn talks will hear this in her somewhat deep voice & it becomes a little funnier, "Sissy, I already fweep unner dare, now I gonna haf to fweep it again!" Bwaaahhhh haaaaaa haaaaaa!! I could hardly contain myself. She is too much some times. Here's a couple of pics from Brinley's 1st full week of school and one from Jr. Vols Day this weekend...

Kindergarten Continued
Okay, so I am sure I will have more to write about from this coming school year, but it is just so exciting at the beginning! Monday evening we got to go to the school to find out who Brinley's teacher would be & meet her. We found out that one of our neighbors had this same teacher last year & loved her. That gives me a sense of relief, not that I had any doubts because she is really nice anyway. Tuesday was her second day of school & then she will go full time starting next week. She is loving every minute of school so far & even brought home a "yellow card" yesterday. This is the card we hope for everyday! :o) I will attach a couple of the pics, from Monday night & Tuesday, but first a quick funny!
On her 1st day last week, Brinley brought home her paper she had colored. The 2 things that stood out the most about the drawings were the cute girl in a dress & what was obviously a cell phone. I asked her if it was indeed a cell phone & she said in perfect Brinley "duh" tone, "yes, momma". I said why did you draw a cell phone & of course the answer was "because I wanted to". Later on I am looking at it again at home & talking to her about the unusual cell phone drawing. This time she said "well, they said to draw a picture of your cell". It all makes sense now! I was there when the teacher handed the paper to her & said "draw a picture of your SELF"! Hahahahahaha! It was all I could do to contain my laughter to avoid embarrassing her! I finally worked up the nerve to speak without giggling & explained what the teacher really said, "oooooohhhhh" she said.

Brinley's First Day of Kindergarten
The time has flown by since Brinley was born! It seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital on a game day & she wore her precious orange & white gingham dress my Aunt made for her. Where does the time go?? Before we know it, she'll be graduating...
As we are pulling into school, Brinley wanted to know why all of the cars were lined up. I explained those were the kids being dropped off. "What do you mean" she asked, so I explained to which she replied, "oh, you can just pull up & drop me off too Momma". She has a special way of making me feel so needed!! She only had one day this week, but that was enough for Mommy! I need recovery time and all. She absolutely loved it. Only one snafu, her & one other girl had the same Hannah Montana backpack & they got them mixed up at the end of the day. DRAMA!! Brinley was a little distraught at first, but it has all been worked out now. She is so ready for her next day! I just hope that the teacher is ready for Brinley!! She would probably run for Kindergarten class president if there was such a thing...
Braelyn was unsure about the whole thing. We were in the library for 5 minutes (for K mtg) & she hops out of her seat & says, "ok, time to get sissy now". I had to explain that we would leave & go home & come back later. She asked again about 15 minutes later, to which I explained it again. As we are walking out the front door to the car, "we haffa get sissy furs", again I explained, but she still says "we can't weave her here". Bless her heart. I guess she was worried. We went to Starbucks to get mommy some energy. While we are sitting in our chairs chit chatting, I told her I was so sad & I was going to miss Brinley. I said "it's just you and me now" and then came the most priceless moment of the day...she jumps down out of the chair, throws both arms and clinched fists into the air & says with great excitement "Whoo Hoo"!!
